Terms & Conditions
Storage Innovation Limited (Trading as Sturij)
Welcome! We’re delighted you’re considering working with us. These terms and conditions set out how we work together to create your perfect furniture solution. When you accept our quote or make a payment, you’re agreeing to these terms – so please take a moment to read through them.
We’ve written these terms in plain language because we believe in transparency and building trust with every client. If anything isn’t clear, please don’t hesitate to ask us.
1. Key Definitions
To keep things simple, here’s what we mean when we use these terms:
"You" or "the customer" – that’s you, the person we’re creating furniture for
"We," "us," or "the company" – Storage Innovation Limited, trading as Sturij
"Goods" – the beautiful furniture items we’re making for you
"Site" – your home or the location where we’ll install your furniture
"Installation" – the process of assembling and fitting your furniture
"Specialist installer(s)" – our skilled team members who bring your furniture to life
2. About This Agreement
This agreement is between you and Storage Innovation Limited (Sturij), a company registered in England & Wales (Company Number: 12903072). Our registered address is 7 Woodland Close, Wetherby, LS22 6BJ.
This document, together with your quotation, drawings, and any survey notes, forms the complete agreement between us. It’s your responsibility to check that all the details are correct before we begin – if you spot anything that doesn’t look right, please let us know straight away.
We may occasionally need to update these terms, but we’ll always give you reasonable written notice of any changes.
3. Ownership & Payment
Here’s how ownership works: we retain ownership of all materials and goods until your final invoice is paid in full. This is standard practice and helps protect both of us. Once everything is paid, ownership transfers to you completely.
If payment hasn’t been received within 30 days of completion, we reserve the right (though we hope we never need to use it) to begin legal proceedings to recover our materials. We genuinely want to avoid this situation – communication is key, so if you’re experiencing any payment difficulties, please talk to us.
4. Your Responsibilities – Hidden Services
We need your help to keep your home safe during installation. Please let us know about any water pipes, gas lines, electrical cables, or other services hidden within walls, floors, or ceilings where we’ll be working.
While we use cable detectors, they’re not 100% reliable. If we accidentally damage hidden services that you haven’t told us about, repair costs will be your responsibility. We know this sounds formal, but it’s important for everyone’s safety and peace of mind.
5. Your Quotation
5.1 What’s Included
Your written quotation will include detailed drawings (sketches and/or CAD plans) showing exactly what we’ll create for you. The great news? All initial design work is completely free – there’s no charge if you decide not to proceed.
You’re under no obligation whatsoever until you accept our quote in writing and pay the initial deposit. The contract officially begins at that point.
5.2 Measurements & Adjustments
Please note that measurements shown are indicative. During manufacture and installation, we may need to make minor adjustments to ensure the perfect fit. Rest assured, we’ll never compromise on the overall look and functionality of your furniture.
5.3 Quotation Validity
Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date we send them to you. After this period, we reserve the right to adjust pricing to reflect any changes in material costs or other factors. If you’d like to proceed after 30 days, just get in touch and we’ll review the quote with you.
Our quotes are based on current trade prices for materials, manufacturing costs, project management, delivery, installation, and taxes. If you request design changes that affect material costs or installation time, we’ll let you know in writing before proceeding.
5.4 Checking Your Specifications
Before we start manufacturing, please carefully review all specifications and dimensions in your final design. Make sure everything meets your requirements – we use the metric system (metres, centimetres, and millimetres) for all measurements.
All drawings and plans remain our intellectual property and are protected by copyright.
The price you see is the price you pay – all quotations are inclusive of VAT.
6. Payment Terms
We’ve kept our payment structure straightforward:
Initial payment: Covers materials, consumables, manufacturing, and delivery – due when you accept the quote and book your installation dates
Final payment: Covers installation costs – due upon completion of the work
We’ll confirm your installation date by email once we receive your initial payment.
6.1 How to Pay
Invoices are sent by email (unless we agree otherwise). Our preferred payment method is bank transfer:
Bank: Barclays Bank
Account Name: Sturij Innovation Limited
Sort Code: [To be provided on invoice]
Account Number: [To be provided on invoice]
While we prefer bank transfers, we can also accept credit card payments – just discuss this with us if it’s your preferred method.
6.2 Payment Deadlines
Payment is due within seven days of receiving your invoice. If we haven’t received payment after seven days, we’ll give you a courtesy call to check everything is okay.
7. Scheduling & Installation Dates
Once you accept our quote and make your deposit, we’ll schedule your installation and confirm the dates by email.
Our typical working hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Depending on the size and complexity of your project, installation may take anywhere from 1 to 5 working days. We’ll always aim to complete the work as efficiently as possible.
Life happens! If you need to change your installation date, please give us as much notice as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Very occasionally, factors beyond our control (illness, severe weather, supplier delays) may require us to reschedule. If this happens, we promise to notify you as soon as possible with maximum advance warning.
8. Materials & Products
Please ensure you’re completely happy with all specifications, materials, fittings, and finishes before finalising your design. If you have specific requirements – particular paint colours, hardware styles, wood finishes – let us know in advance.
A word about wood finishes: while we’ll do our absolute best to match existing woodwork, natural timber variations and light exposure over time mean we can’t guarantee perfect colour matching. Each piece has its own character!
8.1 Custom Manufacturing & Returns
Because we create everything specifically for you, we can’t accept returns or offer refunds once production begins – except in the case of manufacturing defects. Please inspect your goods when they arrive (if possible) to ensure everything meets your expectations.
If a product has a genuine manufacturing fault, we’ll contact the manufacturer immediately to resolve the issue.
Should any parts be delayed or damaged, we’ll notify you as soon as we’re aware and let you know if this affects your installation schedule. We’ll also keep you informed of any issues that arise during installation.
9. Access & Installation Requirements
Installation typically takes 1-5 working days, depending on the project size. We’ll complete the work as quickly as we reasonably can without compromising on quality.
While we always aim to meet estimated completion dates, these are guides based on the information available to us. We can’t be held liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, but we’ll always complete the work as soon as possible.
9.1 What We Need From You
We pride ourselves on clean, efficient working practices. To help us deliver the best results, please ensure:
Access: Our installers can access the site during working hours (9:00 AM-5:00 PM weekdays) or at agreed alternative times
Parking: Suitable parking and clear access for our van with an unobstructed route from vehicle to site
Neighbours: Consider informing neighbours who share access or might be sensitive to minor disruption
Utilities: Inform us of any electrical cables or water pipes you know about – we’ll need locations of the main water valve and electrical fuse box
Power supply: Access to a standard 240V socket (complying with IEE regulations)
Facilities: Access to toilet facilities and a sink/water supply
Clear space: Remove breakable or valuable items from the installation room and along the route to it
Preparation: Remove picture frames, lampshades, soft furnishings, and existing furniture from the area
Electronics: Disconnect and safely store TVs, audio equipment, and media devices to protect them from dust
If we need to clear a room or dismantle existing furniture for you, this will naturally extend the installation time. If you anticipate any challenges in preparing the space, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
9.2 Protecting Your Home
We take great care to protect your home during installation. We use dust sheets, quality extraction equipment on power tools, and always perform a thorough final clean.
Please note: fitted furniture installation may occasionally cause minor damage to existing paintwork. If you’re planning to redecorate, we recommend painting before installation, but be prepared for some touch-up work afterward. You’ll also need to reconnect any TV or media cables after we finish and any paint has dried.
10. Working With Other Trades
Our expertise is in creating beautiful, high-quality bespoke joinery – we’re not certified for electrical, plumbing, or other specialist trade work.
For projects requiring multiple trades, we’re happy to recommend trusted specialists we’ve worked with, or to collaborate with your preferred suppliers. When we make recommendations, there’s no cost to you – we receive no payment for referrals. This means you get quality, value, and a direct relationship with the tradesperson.
While we’re happy to coordinate with other trades, we can’t be held responsible for any delays they may cause.
11. Fitting Tolerances & Finishing
When installing bespoke furniture, we carefully fill gaps between cabinetry and walls, floors, or ceilings using specialist fillers cut to suit your space and wall contours.
We work to tolerances of 1-7mm using high-quality, shrink-resistant white filling materials that leave no residue. When dry, these materials are paint-friendly if you wish to decorate, though decorating isn’t our responsibility.
12. Waste Removal
We’ll handle all waste from the installation – packaging, wood offcuts, dust, and debris. During and after installation, we’ll clean up thoroughly, leaving your space tidy.
We’re licensed waste carriers (so we’re authorised to remove materials from your property), and we comply with all waste disposal regulations.
For projects involving multiple appliances, you might want to consider arranging a small skip for disposal. We’re happy to remove appliance packaging if that’s more convenient, but we’ll need to pass on the actual disposal costs.
13. Insurance & Liability
We maintain comprehensive insurance coverage: £2,000,000 for public liability and £2,000,000 for product liability through Zurich Insurance Company Limited (Policy Number: PC466756, covering 28/10/2025 to 27/10/2026).
14. Photography & Publicity
We’d love to photograph your completed installation (both during and after) to show potential customers the quality of our work. Your privacy is paramount – we always use AI technology to remove personal effects and identifiable features.
Every project we create is 100% bespoke, so these photographs are our only way to demonstrate our capabilities to prospective clients. No two jobs are ever the same!
If you’d prefer we don’t photograph your installation, simply let us know in advance. Otherwise, accepting these terms gives us permission to use the images.
15. Confidentiality
All documents we provide – designs, specifications, drawings – are confidential and remain our property. Please don’t copy, reproduce, or share them with third parties without our written permission.
16. Our Commitment to Quality & Support
We maintain very high quality standards. If we’ve missed something or there’s an issue with your finished furniture, please let us know immediately. We’ll prioritise fixing it – your satisfaction is the most important part of what we deliver.
16.1 Manufacturing Issues
While rare, if there’s a manufacturing fault, it’s absolutely our responsibility. We’ll do whatever is needed to ensure your furniture is in perfect condition.
16.2 Material Warranties
If a material fault is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty (brands like Egger, Blum), we’ll support you in resolving the matter and work to achieve a positive outcome with minimum inconvenience to you.
16.3 Ongoing Support
Furniture can settle over time. If doors or drawers aren’t working quite as smoothly as they did, simply log a support request on our website and we’ll schedule a visit to resolve it. It’s better to call us than let something wear unnecessarily.
We’re committed to supporting the integrity and functionality of your furniture for as long as you own it.
Even if you accidentally damage your furniture, you’ll only pay for replacement materials plus a modest hourly rate for our time and travel. Our mission is to protect your investment.
17. Final Reminder
By accepting our quote and/or making any payment (deposit or full payment), you’re confirming your acceptance of all these terms and conditions.
Thank you for choosing Sturij. We’re excited to create something beautiful for your home!
